The Johannesburg leg of the Good Life Show took place at the Kyalami International Convention Centre from 26th to 28th July 2024. Thousands of visitors attended the event and were given an exclusive opportunity to experience and engage in features such as the Woolworths Good Life Kitchen and the Woolworths Masterclass with PlantLove; join in informative talk sessions hosted by SimplyBiz, powered by Nedbank; cheer on participants in the SA Chefs Plant-Based Chef of the Year Competition; move their bodies in the Made to Move Fitness Area; and discover, taste, test and purchase hundreds of high-quality plant-based, natural, organic, free-from and eco-friendly products.

Woolworths Foods Chief Product Development Officer, Marisa Munroe elaborated on the success of the Woolworths x Good Life Show partnership. “Visitors found the demonstrations by our developmental chefs most inspiring. Our Woolies chefs and product developers really value the engagements facilitated through a show like this, as they’re exposed to people who are conscious about making better food choices, while taking the planet and communities into consideration too. Being in touch with our customers’ evolving world of food, as well as their ever-shifting health and wellness needs, puts us in the best position to respond with inspiring solutions that are relevant and meet their requirements. As a retailer, we are aware of the role that we play and can continue to play in making good food easily accessible.”

“As a proud supporter of the small business economy, SimplyBiz, powered by Nedbank is always eager to collaborate with like-minded brands that are committed to unlocking growth opportunities for small businesses,” says Monique Chinnah, Senior Manager: Design and Development at Nedbank. “The Good Life Show provided us with an exciting platform to empower small businesses with critical business skills through a series of Small Business Talks as well as afford them with market access opportunities to showcase and sell their products to prospective customers and buyers. This is in line with our purpose to use our financial expertise to do good for businesses.”

Vanessa Jarvis Findlay, the Founder, Chef and Owner of NEKED Food said: “Participating in the Good Life Show was an absolute pleasure, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself throughout the event. The atmosphere was electric, the audience was engaging, and the energy was simply infectious. It was truly a joy to share my passion for cooking with such a receptive and enthusiastic crowd.”

Katlego Mlambo, Executive Sous Chef Four Seasons, The Westcliff and MasterChef South Africa Judge said: “Being part of the Good Life Show event this year was a great experience. Not only did I get the opportunity to demonstrate and prepare an amazing plant-based dish, but I also was able to interact and engage with the crowd. I have a passion for cooking, and to be able to share something which I have created with my own two hands is always a thrilling and inspiring experience.”

The great thing about the Good Life Show is not only does it raise awareness about opting for a healthier lifestyle and being mindful of the sources of your products as a consumer but also highlights a variety of exceptional local and innovative products and shines the light on how important it is to actually start making healthier choices for your lifestyle. Heidi Warricker from Live Events says: “Once again, we served up a show filled with innovation, culinary treats and a diverse range of eco-friendly and healthy living products. The Good Life Show catered to anyone interested in the latest trends and lifestyle changes, and all feature areas were a huge hit. As Africa’s only sustainable food, drink and lifestyle event, all our exhibitors were passionate about sharing their products and knowledge with visitors while our chefs and mixologists were excited to showcase their dishes to the crowd. We would like to thank all our visitors for supporting the event, as well as supporting all the South African small businesses who participated in the Good Life Show.”

Planning for The Good Life Show 2025 has already commenced, and the event will have even more on offer, including a ‘Tasting the Future’ conference, awards for excellence and innovation, workshops and tastings and more live entertainment! Next year’s event will also have a strong focus on health, wellness, fitness and living more holistically.
